One Word Resolution and Currently!!

Happy New Year, FRIENDS!! We are linking up with Primary Powers for her One Word Resolution and Farley for Currently in 2015!!

Here is our one word resolution...

Thinner is our one word resolution!! Usually when I am thin, Cristy is not at her thinnest! Then when Cristy is thin, I am well, FAT!! Well it just so happens that at this point in time we are in this fight together for health, happiness, and yes, THINNESS!!  

Cristy and I both have 2 boys!!! One on the quiet/shy side and one on the well, hmmm, oh yeah, the WILD side!! So, when they play together and are not fighting, it's like music to our ears!!!

Not sure exactly what Cristy is doing at this exact moment, but pretty sure we are both enjoying the last few hours of our break!! To be honest I am a little depressed!! I will truly miss all the snuggles, lazy days, and family time! I know we have family time while school is in, but there is nothing like vacation!! 

Cristy and I are both thankful for our wonderful families, friendships and our amazing school!! We love all of our teachers, kiddos, and school families!!

Please help!! While snuggling and having family time I have done nothing but eat (well one day I did run the Jacksonville Bank Marathon- 26.2 miles)!!! I can't seem to stop snacking on candy, cookies, and basically anything there is to sink my teeth into!!  This is an area I plan on working on very soon!! Let's say January 5TH. You have to wait and start on a Monday!

I love my Christmas tree and garland and all of the holiday wall hangings. I wish it could all stay up all year!! But, I need to get this stuff down and put away before I have a year of bad luck. AHHHHH!

I know Cristy has already taken care of all of her decor! She is just amazing like that!

The school year has sure flown by!! While Cristy and I still work at the same amazing school, my new position has made it more difficult for us to talk and plan and work together!!!  I wish the rest of the school year flies by, but plan on making more time for Cristy and I to share and plan!!

YES- We are going to eat more healthy, exercise and lose weight the right way!!

MAYBE- I am going to be more comfortable and happy in my new position as I learn more!!

I WISH- Cristy and I set up monthly meets to work on a business plan!! I need guidance and deadlines!!

It's Currently Time!

I just LOVE Farley's Currentlys each month!  I have to say we have been MIA the last few months, because, well, people..."We always seem to be SO LATE to the party that we figure nothing's left but the solo cups on the floor and tattered party streamers!  There is no FASHIONABLY LATE with Farley.   Honestly, I am pretty darn certain there may be a race to see who can be the first to link up...and sadly to say---we are clearly NEVER EVER gonna win!  :)

But this month...we are actually linking up on the FIRST day of the month and since Farley's linky is just not popular at all (yeah, right! ;)  I think we may be link number 200 already!  Way to be early stinkin' late again to the party!  But dang it...we are comin' anyway!!!

So...without any more crazy rambling...here it is!

Not sure what time zone you are in, but let's just say my husband is maybe more like cooking BRUNCH, or really---if we call it what it is---LUNCH--- in this time zone!  We went out of town for the weekend, stayed up too late every night, ran all day, and we got in last night at 2:00.  We sacked out and maybe didn't get up until after 11:00!  I LOVE THAT!!!!!!  So brunch, lunch, call it what you want...it's homemade sausage gravy and biscuits and that's good ANY time of day!

We finally reconnected with our SC friends and hung out a WHOLE 2 days!  We have missed them so much...especially the kiddos!  It was great to just hang out by the pool, mill about downtown Greenville, hit up some restaurants, and maybe end the night with some Marble Slab Creamery ice cream!

Today...it's do nothing day!  And we are EXCITED to finally get one!!!  The end!

It's been FAR too long since we had one...and I don't like it one bit people!!!!  Gotta fix that...and PRONTO!

Uggh!  Bills!  They get in the way of everything FUN!  We have been working to pay them off for a couple of years!  We are Dave Ramsay flunkies, but I promise we are finally getting REAL close...even if we were on the Dave Ramsay...5 year plan!!!

Travel...we love it!  It's been too long!  Ready to head out and do some exploring.  Looks like Costa Rica might be up first!

July Currently...When did THAT happen?

What the hey?  Who the what? Could someone please explain to me what happened to June!!!  Yesterday we were all friendly and today...gone!!!

I can---not---believe---1 month is already GONE!  Gone, I tell you!

So I am hoping I am getting a little empathy here, because the hubs won't hear of it.

He says I'm whiny.

He says "real people" jobs don't get 8 weeks!

He says he WISHED he got 8 weeks!

Well mister...don't confuse me with the FACTS!!!!  Summer is slipping through my hands...aaarrgh!!

Good news though!  I LOVE MY JOB!!!! so it's perfectly fine that I'll be going back in a few short weeks.

But too bad for me because I will have to break up with my bed, my pajamas, my coffee cup, The Chew, my books, the beach, the pool, and ALL my other SUMMER LOVES!!!!

So...here's what I am up to this July!

Listening - The boys are quietly engrossed in something and that equals a quiet enough house that I can hear the hum of my PC while blogging. RARE!!!  Although...this could be a good thing or a bad thing.  This is what the quiet equaled yesterday...

My  7 year old tried to create a zip-line from the upstairs to the downstairs door for his beanie babies.  He attached it to the fan so that the zip-line would go "sideways".  That's my 10 year old trying to reach the 15 foot fan to undo the mess...and yes...that's a mop.  We had no special tools at hand for this job!!!  Watch out for the "quiet". 

Loving - My husband earned a lateral promotion with his company.  He went from working 12 hour days (7pm to 7am) to an actual Monday-Friday job with 9 hour days(6:30am to3:30pm).  We are beyond BLESSED.  We have our husband/father back and it's been so wonderful!

Thinking - Our school is an awesome place.  We feel like it comes a close second to the "Happiest Place on Earth".  Well...we've been through a big change last year with a new principal and this year we will be getting a new assistant principal.   YIKES!  People...I don't always love change and this has been a bit stressful, but I know we will all rally and make it through!

Wanting - Page and I always say we are going to do better with this blog.  There are 2 of us for the love of Pete!  But somehow, we still don't post as much as we would like.  We have so much to share, but sometimes we get stressed thinking about blogging.  We are both so darn wordy that it takes us FOREVER to write a post.  We need to work on enjoying the process and not writing a darn novel every time.  (I know you guys would probably appreciate that too!!!)  So we really are going to try to bring you MORE good stuff in a SHORTER format (PS - Today's novel does not count!).

Needing - I am pretty sure it's obvious why I need to put on my big girl panties.  Whining and worrying don't do a darn bit of good.  Change is coming...embrace it, relish it, look for the adventures that await! 

4th Plans - If you love Zac Brown Band and you live in GA, you might want to head to Senoia on July 5th.  Word is they'll be playing a concert there for FREE.  There will also be tons of food trucks, market booths, games, and just an all around fun day.  We'll wrap it up with some fireworks.

Currently... It's July!!! WHAT!???!?!

What the hey?  Who the what? Could someone please explain to me what happened to June!!!  Yesterday we were all friendly and today...gone!!!

So to cheer myself up on this July eve (it's technically 3:55 am July 1st!) I went shopping!  OK...so it was on my computer and it was BACK-TO-SCHOOL shopping, but still...shopping!

So...to explain it all...here's our July Currently!

Peace and quiet.  That's a RARE commodity around here in the summer.  My 2 boys play, argue, play, yell, play (which involves running, stomping, wrestling...) ALL day long.  Which is a good thing, right?  BUT not so quiet!

Just got back from a week at the beach.  We went to Santa Rosa beach which is a quiet little beach town between Destin and Panama City, Fla.  The hubs DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT, like high rises so I am always on the lookout for a quiet vacay that's not out in the middle of tim-buck-too (I TOTALLY spelled that phonetically because I have NO IDEA how it's really spelled and it's 4:00 am for the love of Pete so I am not gonna google it to find out!)  Santa Rosa Beach is just gorgeous!  Beautiful water, RIGHT on the ocean, glass windows COVERING the front of the condo.  AND they have 20 miles of bike trails so the whole FAM rode bikes almost every day.  And...did I happen to mention there maybe was a "Blue Mountain Creamery" about a block away  that had AWESOME homemade ice cream?  Maybe we ate there a time or two, or three!! ;)

So what kind of shopping did I do at 3:30 in the morning?  Well I got the most EXCELLENT class decor pack from Hope King on TpT!  It's polka dots, and chalkboard, and chevron, OH MY!  LOVE!!!!  I am vowing to up the cuteness factor in my room this year!

Nuf said.  ENJOY SUMMER...but for the love of PETE...be productive!

Who on God's green earth thought that I needed ONE MORE summer distraction to keep me away from the whole "Be PRODUCTIVE" thing?  Well...apparently my friend Dawn!  I swear...I blame her fully and totally for my Candy Crush addiction.  OK..so here's how it's her fault if you are wondering!  I was being really productive and all..you know...playing Words with Friends.  (Well that's SORTA productive right, because I have to use my brain and keep my geezer self in mental shape, yeah?)  And so I NUDGE her because, well, I was driving back from said vacay and I was slap bored and I needed some games to play.  Well what do you know, she sent me a message that said...and I quote "Stop nudging me.  I am cracking out on Candy Crush!"  Well...you know where that led to.

Me:  What's Candy Crush?"
Dawn:  DO NOT START PLAYING it!  It is ADDICTIVE!  Save yourself.

Currently...Oh yeah!!!!

Wahoo!  Love me some currently!  I have so much fun reading these babies.  And I have to confess...I secretly check Farley's post trying to be one of the first Currentlys posted, and people...I am NOT alone!  Once Farley hits "Publish", I think 50 Currentlys go live in like 5 seconds!

Somehow I always end up being "Lately" and not "Currently"! ;)

But this time---oh this time---I might just get in under 100!  Seriously...100!  REALLY!  Farley you must just be a rock star and ALL the cool kids wanna hang with  you!  HOLLA! ;)

Anywho, here's our latest currently!

I know! I know!  For those of you who follow us, I am so sorry.  I am simply obsessed with Adam Levine!  I think he's made it into the last 3 or 4 currentlys!  He's hot in a totally NOT my type kinda way.  And Blake, that man is a riot (and pretty hot too!)  But really...LOVE that show.  Fun to watch!

Wasabi peas!  Is it wrong to love hard crunchy peas with hot sauce all over them...and when you eat them...you cry a little bit---seriously...burn your nose hairs kinda hot!  Really---I think something may be wrong with me!  

17 school days left!  Gotta buy volunteer gifts, make End of the Year Kindergarten DVD's for my littles, Mother's Day necklaces, silhouettes of the kiddos, make backdrop/costumes/learn dances for the school-wide kindergarten play, report cards, GKIDS (GA assessment), awards...Are you feelin' me on this one?  I know you guys are RIGHT THERE WITH ME!  Hang in there...see next comment!

Currently!

LOVE me some Farley!  Every month I can't wait to read everyone's currently.  Some are serious, some thoughtful, some end with whatever I am drinking coming out of my nose from laughter!  Love them all!

So...here goes!

Obviously I have a crush!  A BIG one.  I am pretty sure I have included Maroon 5 or Adam Levine in the last several Currently's.  I'm sorry people!  I don't usually go for the skinny pale sort of fellow that's all tatted up!  But people...there's just something about this cat that me likey!  My littlest little and I can belt out some serious Payphone I tell you!  BTW, is it wrong that my little is singing "You and I go hard at each other like we going to war...???"  Thank goodness he's too busy jamming to notice a THING that man sings! ;)

Spring Break---no school for a week, leisurely drinking coffee on the front porch in the spring breeze, sleeping in, hanging with the fam---need I say more!  Ahhhhhhhh!

Seriously---where is the control?  Just ONE---MORE---REESE'S---EGG.  I need help!  Seriously! Help!  Step away from the chocolate!

Where, oh, where is that darn fairy?  This house is a WRECK!!!  I just keep pretending I don't see it, but it's getting harder and harder not to trip over the piles!

Do you know Shaun T?  If you do not, please let me take this opportunity to introduce you.  He is a mean, sadistic "muscle"y man that comes on your TV--- IF you are insane enough to push the play button.  He will yell at you, make you want to puke, and cause you to sweat like a pig!  Really!  No joke!  He's really pretty awesome once you spend a month or so with him because then you don't hurt so much, and wince in pain from any sudden movements...because----well---those things called muscles start actually taking shape if you'll only listen to the crazy man!  I did it once before, but then I got lazy and I broke up with Shaun T.  Now...I am crawling back!  Cause you know why?   Cause feeling like a can of popped biscuits---you know what I mean---it ain't fun!

Lastly...be happy now!  I forget this sometimes.  I'll think "I'll be happy when I loose 10 pounds" or "If I can just get this house clean, I'll be happy".  But then I remember there is SO MUCH to be thankful for every second of every day.  BE HAPPY NOW!!!!  Don't waste another minute waiting for it!

Currently...a little late to the party!

Ok, so technically we are NOT so current since it's March 10th and Farley posted her currently linky on the 1st...but hey...don't they say it's good to be fashionably late to the party???  Well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

So...without further ado...for fear of posting this so "late-ly" that it can't even be considered a "current-ly"...

So yeah...everybody's cracking out on a little bit of technology!  But...wait...before you yell at me for all this technology...let me plead my case!  We went to church together, baseball practice with Sam, played outside with bikes, kitties, puppies, and each other, came in...and well...everybody was ready to part ways...for a little indulgence time!  Kiddos on cartoons, husband on the X-Box, and me..well  you know where I went!  Up here to cruise around on Pinterest, check emails, and write this blog post!  For the love of Pete...I certainly didn't need to wait ANY LONGER to get the March lately currently! :)

72 degrees today!  Say what!!!!  I mean last weekend we sat out at the baseball field for 2 practices, total of 31/2 hours, in SNOW FLURRIES...people...it's Georgia...we are NOT prepared for this!  It's March...nearly Spring I tell you...SNOW...really????  I mean we were taking turns going to the car so that we could defrost ourselves just to get through the practice.  Kiddos were trying NOT to hit the ball because it was hurting their hands!  And then...today...SUNSHINE!!!!  Glorious, beautiful, warm, did I say glorious...SUNSHINE!!!  Wahoo!

Sunshine= no productivity occurring!  Needed to work on our next Math Pack - Unit 5 on measurement.  Did...not...happen!  Sunshine happened!  And it was goooooooood!!!  There's always tomorrow, right?

Did a little fly-by at Lowe's today for seeds, and well...I saw a new rug I wanted for the living room, a new lamp that would look AWESOME if I bought the new rug, and of course none of it REALLY matches the colors in my current living room, so I took a quick swing by paints before the HUBS put a ca-bash on the WHOLE plan!  Money...or lack thereof...darn it!  Don't you just hate party poopers!  Off to scratch some lottery tickets!

'Nuf said!

Like cats!  To steal a line from "Despicable Me" ... "Their so FLUFFY!!!!!"  Me likey!  My little kitty, Scout, is just the bomb!  He's a fluffy sweet snugly kitty by day, and "Katniss Everdeen" by night.  That little fellow hunts birds, moles, squirrels..you name it...It's his if he wants it.  WAY like!

Christ...need I say more!  The man is just awesome.  Taught my littles (technically mediums - 9 and 10 year olds) at church today all about the Passover festival.  Simply amazing that he KNEW what he would be facing, but he did it ANYWAY...for me...and for you!  LOVE!!!

Technically LOVE clothes, but can't STAND, LOATHE, absolutely DESPISE washing and folding them...but LAUNDRY didn't start with a C for Cristy so I had to stretch this one a little!  Honestly...if I did win the lottery, I think I would just wear each piece of clothing until it needed to be washed...and then I would just give it away and buy something new...thus...NO LAUNDRY!!!!  EVER-------AGAIN!!!

So who doesn't think Adam Levine is hot?  Normally I go for big burly types, solid men, salt of the earth kinda guys...but I have to tell you...if I ever switch to the lanky, tender, falseto voiced, slightly feminine guy...then ADAM LEVINE is my guy!   Something about that man just exudes sexy!  (Shhh!  DO NOT tell the hubs...please see "thinking" on the Currently!)

What are brown bag delight lunches you ask...oh...my...goodness!  They are my new favorite thing.  Some wonderful woman decided to start a small business where she provides brown bags lunches to local school teachers each week for $5 per lunch.  PEOPLE...do you know what this means!!!!  I DO NOT HAVE TO PACK MY LUNCH 1 DAY EVERY SINGLE WEEK!  And...I DON'T HAVE TO EAT THE MYSTERY MEALS FROM THE CAFETERIA ON DAYS WHEN I AM TOO LAZY TO PACK SAID LUNCH!  I am so sorry I had to yell...but that is just PURE joy and excitement coming at ya!

Any good ideas for hubby gifts?  I did find an awesome ROCK CLIMBING Groupon that I already bought for him...but now I am kinda at a loss!  HELP!!!!!

Me likey food!  Me likey to eat!  Me likey to think about what's for lunch while I am still eating breakfast!  Me no likey that I gained 12 pounds from Halloween to the current day!  WHAT???  Yes people...it is possible to eat things...a lot of things...even if they are nailed down! ;)

So...now here we are.  Jeans are squeezing me!  Muffin top in FULL effect!  Girl scout cookies are BANNED from my home!  It's a SAD day people!  SAD, SAD, SAD!  But...alas...there is hope!  I am going to make friends with my treadmill and my tennis shoes...I promise!

And finally...what's up with that?  Smacking drives me CUH-RAH-ZY!!!!  I am not sure how so much noise can come out of a small 9 year old boy...but dang it if it's not a cacophony at EVERY meal at my home!

Currently and "GET OUT of my PJ's"!

Wow!  Is it really 2013?  Well...I'll be honest...as you can see from my "Currently", it's time for me to get back to reality and get motivated to rock and roll in this new year!  Thanks Farley for the oh so cute January Currently! I have SOOOOO enjoyed this break!  I did spend A LOT of quality time snuggling in my new PJ's, it's true! Did you know that you can really DO ANYTHING you want in PJ's?  

Here are 5 things I successfully accomplished while still in my PJ's!

#1:  Napped---a-LOT!  No surprise that PJ's work well here!

#2:  Watch movies, TV, play the XBox, really anything electronically related!

#3:  Cook!  Not that I did much of that.  But I swear all the meals I cooked in PJ's just tasted better!

#4: Ride in a go-cart!  And I REALLY wish I had a picture to show you this one!  The youngest kiddo got a shiny new red go-cart for Christmas and I really wanted to take that bad boy for a spin they wanted me to come see them ride.  Well...people...I just wasn't ready to get out of my pj's just yet.  SO...I went out and somehow ended up taking a ride while I was there!  All 5 foot 5 of me squished into a go-cart built for a 6 year old!  The only way I survived was the cushioning provided by my snuggly PJ's!

#5: Work on new things for our classroom and hopefully to share with you in our store!   

On that note, we are going to be hitting on math HARD once we go back this week (and I promise I will not wear my PJ's to school)!!!  Page and I both feel like we have gotten a little behind because we are really trying to give kiddos time to grapple with new concepts and make discoveries of their own.  And darn it, that just takes more time than "dishing" out the learning.  

We started our shape unit right before the break and are loving it so far.  The kids are really making the coolest discoveries and are even coming up with stuff we didn't even anticipate!  LOVE!

So here's a quick look at the unit we created and are using.  We call it Shape Explosion! It's over 120 pages of games, activities, lesson ideas for each standard, student book, more games, and practice sheets.  

If you're like us, and need to hit it hard, maybe this will do just the trick!

Our 1st CURRENTLY...ever!

Hey bloggy buddies!

Ok---so this is going to be a quickie post from 1/2 of Kindergarten Squared...Cristy!  I have been DYING to do one of these "currently's" I have been seeing!  (OK---so I am sure this has been around awhile...but we are a little late getting to the blogging party!)  So here goes my first attempt!  Be gentle!
